About GirlTalk

Established in October 2014, Girl Talk remains inspired by a need to provide a safe place for Christian women and men to share, learn and grow together in God.

Girl Talk is geared towards helping people unearth God’s hidden treasures in them, and breaking past every form of limitation; understanding that they can recreate the beautiful image of themselves they might have lost through time, regardless of age, class or race.

Girl Talk is based on the scripture:

Luke 5: 17-26 [NKJV]

17 Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

18 Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him.

19 And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.

20 When He saw their faith, He said to him, "Man, your sins are forgiven you."

25 Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, "We have seen strange things today!"

How Far Would You Go For a Friend?

Girl Talk is for any woman or man who has ever felt like the ‘crowds’ of life are keeping them from a deep, intimate and healing encounter with Jesus. Or anyone who has ever felt a deep yearning to get to Jesus, without knowing how to. It is also for those who can help others get to Jesus.

Many of us have had struggles in different areas; those lessons learned could help someone who is in the midst of a similar struggle right now. Girl Talk provides a safe space to share. A place of Prayer, Praise and the Personal; where the Personal includes growth, testimonies, advice, encouragement and relationships.

Luke 5: 20 [NIV]

20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”

In the natural, that was the first time Jesus was meeting that man, yet He called him friend. Even though a lot of the members of Girl Talk may not know each other in the natural because we know and have a relationship with the Savior we are friends, sisters even, united by our big brother Jesus. Like those friends, we seek to find unconventional ways to bring our burdens and the burdened to Jesus.

A fellowship for the many and for the one

If one person has a burden then we all can help in prayer or by giving practical advice—for those who have experience in that area. Girl Talk is a place where we grow with bible studies and topical discussions.
